Welcome to Our Club
Thank you for visiting the West Texas Track Club website. Here you will be able to find out about our club, what events are coming up, news, see photos, and more.
Due to the current Covid-19 situation and concerns for safety of our athletes and family members we sadly announce the cancellation of our 2020 summer program and activities. We would like to take precautions as recommended be the CDC. Our track program is fully conducted with love, hugs, support and encouragement for our athletes and future Olympians. We cannot coach our athletes successfully under these Covid-19 recommended conditions.
We are very sad that our 2020 high school graduates will not have the opportunity to compete in their final summer track and field program during their senior year and be recognized for all their hard work and dedications to the program. We regret the fact that these seniors will not be appreciated and recognized for all they have contributed to the success of our program.
However we are inviting our 2020 high school graduates that have been competing in our summer track program for many years especially those that started as tiny tots (ages 2-6) to return in 2021 and compete in a special category created for them. Scholarships will be awarded for both the 2020 and 2021 high school graduates at both the Nikolas Moralez and Dr. Dan Cepero track meets.
Words can never express how proud we are of these student athletes and how proud we are of their accomplishments. We wish them well in their respective colleges and universities and will continue to lift them up in our daily prayers. Finally we ask everyone to continue with the recommended guidelines of Covid-19 and stay home when able. See you all next summer and God bless us all.
With all our love,
West Texas Track club committee and coaches.
Our philosophy is to provide our local athletes an environment founded on sportsmanship, motivation and commitment necessary to compete in local, state, and national level. The West Texas Track Club program exposes youngsters to the fundamentals of track & field with an emphasis on fun and fitness.
We are a non-profit organization who accepts all children over the age of six years old that would like to participate in this program. Members of our club have achieved recognition at both the state and national level.
Dr. Daniel Cepero
“This was a difficult decision because we know that there are thousands of participants who look forward to this event every summer,” said Mark Lord, TAAF Executive Director. “However, the health and safety of our participants, volunteers and staff is our highest priority and that made this the right decision for our organization.”
